The Egg

Description
The egg is a large black moon of Issinu, its surface is chitinous like the shell of a great beetle. Many holes and tunnels into its surface lie under large moving plates. The entire moon is a single living creature, who regularly births both Surki and other insectoid creatures who tend to its interworkings and act as ambassadors for its will. The cavern elves have long had druid groves inside the creature, and nurture the young insectoids within.

Threats
The largest threat The Egg faces is domination of interested parties who would exploit their mastery of living material. The cavern elves keep the nature of the egg a secret, only passing down the knowledge of how to tend to and modify the living beings within the egg to the most trusted of acolytes. This has kept the egg safe from most threats, but it is not uncommon for pirates and mercenaries to arrive in order to abduct insectoids from the surface of the realm. These raiding parties are met with extreme violence if discovered making it a very profitable, although cruel, endeavor.
Other Characteristics
The egg has latent psionic energy that will regularly interact with conscious minds upon its surface. Those who sleep in or upon the egg are often met with visions of its desires, and some can even understand the voice that steadily hums with each of the eggs breathes.

Special Rules
Creatures unaligned with the eggs interests may not rest upon or in the moon itself, as they will be assailed with violent nightmares sent by the egg itself. If a hostile does not cloak its mental presence in some way they raise their awareness points by 1 every hour.
