Forgotten Gods

The gods of the old world are kept secret by the dragon dynasties. The worship of deific creatures is illegal. This has not stopped zealous followers from maintaining the old faiths, teaching their children generation to generation with ancient knowledge of distance beings of great power. These cults are sought out by elves as one of their primary charges as servitors of the Dragon Dynasties.

From the many worlds of the old world there are an innumerable number of different deities these cults worship. Most are benign and pay no heed to the prayers of these cults, however some cults are in touch with creatures and entities known to the Endless Plane. These cults who worship the far gods on the edge of existence are an ever present threat to the safety of the Ten Realms.
